Daniel Alexis Garcia is a co-principal of DRAWINGS, an architecture and design practice based in Brooklyn, New York, and Portland, Oregon, a Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Stuart Weitzman School of Design, and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute School of Architecture. His work explores design as a medium for experimentation and cultural expression, incorporating insights from a broad range of disciplines. His recent projects, both built and speculative, include an outdoor theater-in-the-round, a 50-meter-long shade structure, a scalable and affordable carbon-conscious community-owned housing model, and a series of hydrological structures aimed at reshaping human relationships with the environment, addressing critical water challenges, and restoring rural wetland habitats. He has also taught at California College of the Arts, and his individual and collaborative work has been recognized and featured in The Architect’s Newspaper, Disc Journal, Divisare, Metropolis, and Interior Design Magazine. Daniel holds a Master of Architecture degree with distinction from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, a Bachelor of Architecture degree from California College of the Arts, and is a registered architect in New York State.
